This wine was an afterthought. I almost didn't bottle it. But Viki waved a magic wand and turned it into something special. In the bottle it has developed into one of the most hypnotically honeyed and mercurial wines I've ever tasted.
It's an albillo criollo made from grapes from an isolated single vineyard plot on ‘picón’ volcanic soil at 1,000m asl in El Tión, in the south of La Palma. Short skin maceration followed by ageing on fine lees in steel tank for 12 months.
Richly complex and wild, with notes of dried apple, sea salt and orange blossom honey.
13% vol.
Unfined and unfiltered. 75cl. Contains sulphites (<25ppm).
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
