El Castro de Valtuille Mencía Joven 2024

From the estate of a great winemaker, Raúl Pérez, in Bierzo. Hand-harvested mencía with short maturation in large-format neutral oak – ie, 'joven'/drink-me style. Bang-for-buck-wise, pretty much untouchable at this price point.  Classic, heady mencía notes of rose, blackberry, cherry liquor, sage and cinnamon. Yum.
